Without knowing how you have coded your valve, it's a little tough to
debug this. Where is the "zero bytes" report coming from? What does your
source code look like?

file. In particular, you get JMX from
http://java.sun.com/products/JavaManagement/download.html
(be sure to get "JMX Instrumentation and Agent Reference Implementation").
