Oh well, you live and learn :-)
We're deploying on SuSE 7.0 anyway. I prefer SuSE purely because:
a) you get shedloads of apps on the source cd's (less downloading)
b) yast is brilliant for admin stuff
c) They release new versions pretty frequently
