thanks, I posted that and got some feedback that may work. 
The path I am taking now is as follows:
get mod_webapp from lastnights build.
build it on Windows (PITA).
rebuild warp.jar
intall on fresh tomcat4/apache1.3.20(ish)
pray to freakin god this stuff works correctly!
