The $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext directory. 2. The tomcat folder hierarchy For the first, point, please check that you indeed have nothing in the $JAVA_HOME/jre/lib/ext directory. It may even be something silly like having two JDKs installed, and you thinking you're using one, where as you might be using the other. For the second point, 1. List out all jar files, and see if there's any repeat xerces or jaxp or crimson jar from somewhere. 2. If this doesn't work, then try setting up a fresh Tomcat 4.0.1 directory and running you app in this newly setup tomcat. Lastly, if all this doesn't help, post your complete StackTrace. Someone might be able to help. Sriram _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
