I was of the impression that Tomcat had built-in connection pooling, but, unless I misinterpret the recent postings on this site, it doesn't really 'work'.
Could someone please confirm/deny this for me. Connection pooling is very important to one of my current projects, and I had hoped to use Tomcat and it's built-in pool. If anyone is currently using a third-part pool that they are well pleased with, I would greatly appreciate that information too. If I can't use the built-in pool (because it's 'broken' right now) then I still need something to use for development purposes - preferably something I could leave in (that would handle a high load).
