Dave,
I think all the "shm.init(): no file" messages are because at one point in my fiddling around
I removed the config for the scoreboard file from workers2.properties. If you include the block below in your workers2.properties after [uriMap:],
[shm:]
info=Scoreboard. Required for reconfiguration and status with multiprocess servers
file=${serverRoot}/logs/jk2.shm
size=1000000
debug=0
disabled=0
the "no file" messages should go away (or at least change, should now see stuff about GLOBAL_FILE etc.
All I know about the scoreboard is what is contained in the above info= line...something to do with multiprocess servers ;-)
BTW, I would still recomment looking at the sample workers2.properties file that comes with the connectors source (in 4.1 this is in jtc-src\jk\conf. That has examples which relate to load-balancing, though I haven't got this to work yet.
cheers
Rory

Subject: example mod_jk2 files for Apache 2.0.39
As requested, attached are the actual config files I'm currently using to
integerate Apache2 and Tomcat 4.1.3 using mod_jk2. I have not included
server.xml (it is hard to read because it's maintained by the admin webapp)
but the complete <connector> element is attached (actually the tomcat docs
on this part of the config are fine).
