i have apache 2.0.39/tomcat4.0.4/mod_jk working on windows
2000.  i admittedly didn't know any better in choosing
those (just that i didn't want to use IIS) but they seem to 
work together. my howto is here:

i have no idea if the above works for apache 2.0.40. 
i'll try that problem later.
