you can easily test it out by setting 

JAVA_OPTS='-Xmx=64M'

I've ran extensive load testing with 4.1.10 w/o any problems. Haven't
done it with 4.1.12, but hopefully it's not a new bug, since the release
notes don't list anything that might create a new bug.
