I'm slowly progressing on a webapp using the latest and greatest Struts nightly build along with Tomcat 4.1.12 on my Windows 2000 desktop for development.
When it's finally finished, it needs to live on a "real" webserver. Currently, that's an HP-UX 11 box running HP's version of Apache 2.0/Tomcat 3.3. That's not going to work... I need JSP 1.2 and Servlet 2.3 support. I'm not the sysadmin, but typically we seem to stick to installing things that come directly from HP. I'm not clear on all the reasons, but apparently HP-UX is sufficiently "different" from other Unixes that things don't transfer well. (??) Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me? Is it out of the question to build Tomcat from the source and then convince the existing Apache webserver to cooperate with it? -- Wendy Smoak http://sourceforge.net/projects/unidbtags
