Oracle AS is an OEM'd version of the orion server with Oracle specific hooks.
You can download orion from http://www.orionserver.com. I think it's free but there is some licenseing issues. I'd stick with Tomcat since it is GPL'd and it is the basis that Sun uses to develop the JSP and Servlet specifications. Solaris 9 even comes with apache and tomcat preloaded.
