hi !

a friend of mine uses NT; you know what that means:
e.g. he installed ( had to, 'cause of some dll's) IE4
and couldn't log in any more ( expected anything less annoying ?),
so he asked me what to do after inserting the floppy....

mounting ntfs was fine, ls worked fine.
but when trying to create archives on another volume
tar/cpio/pax started bothering about some compressing problems.
well, the most important data got saved.

it's over now, anyway, just for my information ( no nt machines here,
thank heaven !) are these problems related to the limited ntfs
support or did i make other mistakes ?

any tips for my friend, to avoid future problems ?
he will do a fresh install soon ; maybe we can prepare for the
forthcoming problems.

TIA !

Gruss / with best regards
