[tomsrtbt] bzip2 problems with modules

Whenever I try to "bzip2 -d module.name", I get an error message like:

"data integrity error when decompressing.
It's possible that the compressed file has been corrupted."

Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong would be much appreciated!
