Am I nuts, or are the kernel modules (specifically ftape and friends)
available at the ftp site still for the old kernel, like the one used in the
1.7.185? I tried to load them using a 1.7.205 disk, but got a
kernel-mismatch error. They don't work if I try to force them, either. I
noticed this when I tried to recover a partition off of tape.
I went back to a 1.7.185 disk and the kernel modules loaded fine, but that
old a kernel can't mount the ext2 fs partition because it's got 'new
features'. hahahaha
I d/l the very lastest off the ftp site, but they seem to be the same as the
ones on my extras disk. At least they still don't work with 1.7.205...
