I am wrong. There is a problem here. The unpack really needs the
--partial-retry option, but it is supposed to run on systems without my
customized dd. I will have to rethink this. When I changed my dd to have
the option, I made it *default* to the 'normal' behaviour, which probably
breaks unpack.s, which can't have the option since people use their own dd
programs for this. Really I should set the count parms all in bytes
instead of blocks, then use 'head -c', which is just about everywhere
(though not available on tomsrtbt when rc.S and rc.M are run, so I still
need the dd --retry-partial).
Maybe changing
dd bs=1k if=$1 skip=$O1|dd count=$Z2|gzip -d -q>$RD
to
dd ibs=1k if=$1 skip=$O1 obs=512|dd count=$Z2|gzip -d -q>$RD
will fix it.
