I'm using tomsrtbt 1.7.358 on a RedHat7.1 machine. After an unpack, I've tried to delete cpio, tar, emacs to get enough space to add dump/restore. Since dump is about 50K, it looked to me like that should do the trick. However, a ./buildit.s gens a msg about a negative number of sectors being available. (My system info suggests I've got hundreds of Megabytes of ext2 dispk space).
Before subscribing, I search the list to find out why and found a comment (by Tom?) suggesting that the questioner did not understand hard links, so that if emacs were to be deleted, ce would need to be as well.
I went back and tried this, but buildit still fails for apparent lack of space. I am running everything as root. It seems like a simple enough thing to do: what am I missing ( Doh! :-) ?
