The rescuept output does not necessarily mean things are as messed up as
you might think.  It looks for *possible* partitions.  What I would do in
this situation is first cut a tape of the raw hard drive, then set the
write-protect tab on the tape, then you can try messing with fdisk to tell
it about partitions, using the ones that show as *possible* ones, with
type 83.  -Tom
