-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 tom's very helpfully pointed out to me that i was being incompetent in my question asking, so firstly apologies..
it does mean i've moved a little further to solving the 'problem'. i have a realtec RTL8019AS pci network card. according to their website this is ne2000 compatible, so i'm now trying to get the ne2k-pci add-on module to do what i want. i've done insmod 8390.o which was successful, and then insmod ne2k-pci which gives the following: Using /tmp/ne2k-pci.o ne2k-pci.c: v1.02 for Linux 2.2, 10/19/2000, D. Becker/P. Gortmaker, http://ww.scyld.com/network/ne2k-pci.html ne2k-pci.c: No useable cards found, driver NOT installed. insmod: init_module: ne2k-pci: Device or resource busy i'm assuming "No useable cards found" is a problem, but i don't why my card isn't found, or how to find out/correct this. apologies again for the ignorance. to infinity and beyond. - -- the auroran sunset / tithonus / fennel personal website: http://www.aoiko.net/ diary: http://www.aoiko.net/mind/diary.asp -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/BgR7HTJhv09iT3sRAgK1AKD9nBk0GDnpzN2p52kVnJN1vmzkhACg2oJm b6Gw7moz9jEZsSpwHitTZJ8= =tGoj -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
