i appear to be rather less hacking savvy than those in the
archives, so this question is probably going to appear
very stupid.. what the hey..

i've booted up vanilla tomsrtbt, and am trying to get
networking going. so far i've failed to find any
"/etc/network/interfaces" file or something like it.
ifconfig only shows the loopback inferface. if i run
dhcpcd-- i get

SIOCSIFADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFBRDADDR: No such device
SIOCSIFNETMASK: No such device
SIOCGIFFLAGS: No such device

ERROR

trouble is i have no idea what device it is refering to, or
how to bring it into existence.

on a mildly related note, is there some sort of syntax
guide for settings.s ? i'm probably being blind..

any help much appriciated.

to infinity and beyond.
