I have tried again and Tonto does not see the Pronto...:-(

 Still it "might" be that the 6000 has some problem with the keyspan 28X
 but not with the 19W/Q (the one with the DB-9).

1) Is there any possibility you try connecting the 6000 of your friend to
 your computer when you have a spare moment  to prove if it works or not ?

2) How is the cable wired from the tonto to the 28X for you ?
can you confirm if the tip of the stereo plug is connected to pin 5 of the Minidin or to pin 3?
I wired mine as described in the picture attached but this might be wrong.

I use Tonto with the 28X and my T1000.  A friend of mine has the 6000  
and programs it fine from his Mac using Tonto.  So I believe it works.  
He has a Keyspan serial adapter with a D-9 serial connector instead of  
the Mac serial.
