SS12 does not include features we need otherwise I would happily
purchase a support entitlement. So I'm hoping someone can clarify the
permitted uses of SSX with the default license or some alternative
option if available. If this is the wrong place to ask.. please direct
me to the right place..

If there's a difference between the de jure and de facto answer giving
both is appreciated.

1) Is it generally acceptable to redistribute SSX in part or whole? (I
ask because if I'm not mistaken most everything on os2008* releases are
redistributable...?)

 From the license...

Exhibit A:

Permitted Number of Copies: Unlimited.

However, it's non-transferable and there's no clause about
redistribution that I can find..

(Small side note: IPS currently doesn't support mirroring, but if/when
it does and if/when there are community mirrors.. How would that be
affected by this license if SunStudioExpress is part of those default
authorities)

2) I'm seeing some verbiage which if I'm not mistaken means it can't be
used commercially and also applies in part or whole to question 1..

section 2
"internally solely for the purpose of evaluation during the term of this
Agreement."

"3.2 Licensee shall have no right to use the Technology for commercial
uses or in a production environment."

3) Frankly, from my evaluation of sun cc vs gcc I'm quite happy that gcc
isn't the default compiler. On the other hand it would be disappointing
and a waste of space if sunstudioexpress can't be used for commercial
purposes. The only entitlement I'm aware of is for SS12.. Someone
please correct me if I'm wrong and paste the link

Kindly,

Christopher
