I am now working on warlock integration to ON, hopefully after a while warlock binaries both X86 and Sparc would be available under /ws/onnv-gate/public.

Right, but people not on SWAN can't access /ws/onnv-gate/public, just as they can't get at suntools.eng, which is why the initial question was regarding making the binaries accessible to those who are not at Sun (and thus the full community of ON engineers, not just the subset at Sun).

Could you give some suggestions about where should warlock binaries locate so that people out of Sun could make use of them? Somewhere in opensolaris?

Aaron,
when you say you're working on integrating it into ON - does that mean you'll be integrating the source under the usr/closed tree? (Assuming it can't be open-sourced) Or does that mean you'll just literally be placing the binaries in /ws/onnv-gate/public and that's it?

If you'll be integrating the source into usr/closed, we might be able to distribute it by means of the closed-bins deliveries. If you're just placing it in /ws/onnv-gate/public, then we can host the warlock binaries in the Tools community at http://opensolaris.org/os/community/tools

FYI, placing the binaries in /ws/onnv-gate/public will be our first goal, after that we want to integrate the source code in to ON, and there are great chances it would be under usr/src not usr/closed. And we have the plan to release warlock into opensolaris to bring more features. It's maybe just a matter of time.
Aaron

Okay, so when you place the binaries in /ws/onnv-gate/public, please let me know and we can get them up into the Tools community so external people can use them.

cheers,
steve
