Hi,

I sent email last summer asking for volunteers to act as 'area experts' about the new source code management systems (SVN and Mercurial). Being an area expert meant you were willing to learn SVN and/or Mercurial. And it was anticipated that the 'job' would mostly involve sharing knowledge with this alias about SVN and/or Mercurial by answering questions, providing pointers to information, etc.

Right now I am interested in Mercurial. And I need some help from Sun
volunteers.

Attached is the list of Sun people who responded last summer about Mercurial. Lots has changed since then, so I would appreciate an update from people on the attached list and input from anyone else who is interested in helping Sun teams transition to Mercurial.

Here's what I need to know:

- If you are still willing/able to be a Mercurial 'area expert'.
- If so,
   - If you have learned about Mercurial;
   - If you are willing to do a presentation/talk at your site about
     transitioning from TeamWare to Mercurial;
   - If you have materials about transitioning from TeamWare to
     Mercurial (blog entries, presentations, email, project
     documentation);
   - If you are willing learn about and use the SCM Migration
     Project's toolset (replacement SUNWonbld package).

We are gathering available information for publication in the Tools community, and we want to schedule presentations in various locations to give people a chance to talk with someone about Mercurial and transitioning.

Thank you!

Bonnie
