Attention OpenSolaris developers & interested parties:

You've probably already noticed a different format to external emails
coming from Sun's internal bugtracking system, bugster. This month
saw a lot of changes to the default email notifications, both internally
and externally.

The most obvious thing you'll notice right away is that emails sent
externally now seem to be from "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" instead of
from the users who just made the change. This change was done in order
to comply with privacy and confidentiality concerns. [1]

Starting Wednesday, Oct 31, you'll start seeing much more informative
emails for any CRs that are updated in the "solaris" product. [2]

The new emails will include:
Synopsis
Generic Hardware Values (like sparc, x86, etc)
Keywords
Type, Subtype
Status, substatus
Priority
Introduced in Release/Build
Description
Work around
Targeted Release
Duplicate of...
Hook Fields
and much more.

All mails sent internally, containing the full CR report, will now
have a "Sun Confidential: Internal Only." label and should not be
forwarded outside of the company.

If you have questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask,
just please keep in mind that I am just a Solaris developer
that interacts directly with the defect management team. I am
not a bugster developer and I have nothing to do with b.o.o. :-)

[1] Please don't shoot the messenger! People are still trying to
come up with a better solution.
[2] "product" here means the bugster product "solaris". Not all Solaris
(or OpenSolaris) bugs are tracked in that product, so not all
bugs you see will have this new format. If it's worthwhile to you,
let us know & we'll try to get the other "product" owners to join
     the pilot.
