I think you've got an extra "S" there :-)


I'm pretty sure that these lines won't work with /usr/bin/sed:

  2947  $SED -e '/^#/d' -e $'/^[ \t]*$/d' $REGFILE | while read LINE; do
  2978  $SED -e '/^#/d' -e $'/^[ \t]*$/d' $cf | while read LINE; do


Apart from that it looks ok to me.
