I have the NCC-2 with inputs from two SAL-30 antennas spaced about ΒΌ wavelength apart. I rarely use device since most of my low band operation is remote and I have other listening antennas. The idea was to make the pattern more discriminating. It helps by a few dB, in my estimation.

It has several optional modules. My noise is mostly on the higher HF bands. I know the approximate location of the source of the noise. I installed a hi-impedance vertical element about 150ft away from the noise source and it?s connected to my B input on NCC-2. Input A in my main TX antenna which is a yagi at 120ft. The NCC-2 works good at removing most of the noise. It does take some time to get used to adjusting it. I?ve only had it hooked up a couple weeks so still learning how to use. Feel free to contact me privately if you would like. 73, Steve NA5C Sent from my mobile device > On Dec 23, 2024, at 8:12?AM, Andree DL8LAS via Topband > <[email protected]> wrote: > > ?Hey,do any of you use an NCC-2 or NCC-1 for antenna phasing or noise > reduction? The idea is to pick up as much of the unwanted local noise signal as possible (within reason), so the noise canceller can null it out. My best "noise antenna" was a Beverage pointed directly at the noise. :-) 73 Mike W0BTU https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fweb.archive.org%2Fweb%2F20190827040547%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fw0btu.com%2F&data=05%7C02%7Crodman%40buffalo.edu%7Cb22dd43d5b6e491006c308dd23735751%7C96464a8af8ed40b199e25f6b50a20250%7C0%7C0%7C638705700493836037%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=ymJW3dBPre1zJVWR7pWifcL2c6F2R0aW6m7ftHuvvaY%3D&reserved=0<https://web.archive.org/web/20190827040547/http://w0btu.com/> On Mon, Dec 23, 2024, 9:19 AM Steve Muenich <[email protected]> wrote: > > I installed a hi-impedance vertical element about 150ft away from the > noise source > ------------------------------ Subject: Digest Footer _______________________________________________ Topband mailing list [email protected] https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=http%3A%2F%2Flists.contesting.com%2Fmailman%2Flistinfo%2Ftopband&data=05%7C02%7Crodman%40buffalo.edu%7Cb22dd43d5b6e491006c308dd23735751%7C96464a8af8ed40b199e25f6b50a20250%7C0%7C0%7C638705700493848056%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=j0Ginq06g5aeLCaawT3B%2BRutsU9y2ySFuQwzrS4iqog%3D&reserved=0<http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/topband> ------------------------------ End of Topband Digest, Vol 264, Issue 19 **************************************** _________________ Searchable Archives: http://www.contesting.com/_topband - Topband Reflector
