Hi,
Looking at the SPIN API at http://topbraid.org/spin/api/. I
downloaded the distros for spin and spin-base and found they are the
exact same file. They look to both be SPIn and SPIN-Base is missing.
the download of the latest version looks fine to me:
http://topbraid.org/spin/api/1.2.0/index.html
Also, After my first blink at the docs I haven't been able to
determine quickly the difference between SPIN base and SPIN.
SPIN base is there entirely for technical reasons: a lot of our product
code depends on features that are also used by SPIN, e.g. the
ProgressMonitor. But we didn't want to make all our code depend on SPIN,
so we extracted a base plugin for the overlap.
I suggest adding a column to the libraries table for comments so that
the user can get what's what quickly. Also, you are probably already
aware but ARQ is about to roll out version 2.10.0 soon, so it might be
worth rolling a new version of SPIN for compatibility.
Yeah, this is a recurring request and I have no simple answer. We can
realistically only ship what's used by the latest TopBraid version. We
are about to switch to Jena 2.7.4 for the next release (unless 2.10
comes out in time and is stable enough), so this would be the next SPIN
API release too. It's hard to keep up with two different release cycles.
And yes I promised a maven distribution many times, and still hope we
can get this done.
