Interesting … because I was also able to open it successfully just now by doing
the following:

· Right click in the Navigator, choose import, RDF file from the web

· Entered http://reference.data.gov.uk/def/intervals/

· Entered file name with .rdf extension

· This created a file for me

· I then, successfully opened it

I am using 4.5 pre-release version, but I don’t think this matters. Paul, If
you try the same steps, does it work for you?

Previously, I went to the link using Firefox to look at the file and got served
a plan text file. Someone else went to the link with Chrome and got RDF file.

I then copied it to the workspace, had to rename because the extension was .dat
and tried opening it. It hang. It is possible that TBC was trying and failing
to access imports. Although, I believe we time out when this is taking too much
time and TBC was hanging for several minutes for me.

Sorry, about incorrect response about OWL/XML format. Very recently we had
several people independently reporting an issue with hanging on open and they
all were trying to open OWL/XML files. So, we jumped to an incorrect conclusion
too quickly.

Regards,

Irene

Subject: Re: [topbraid-users] TBCSE hangs

Paul,

I went to that URL in Chrome and downloaded the RDF/XML, which I saved to the
workspace as intervals.rdf. This opens without problems for me. It does try to
load the owl:imports though, and a networking issue could explain why it
appears to "hang" if the network of one of the imports is down or unreliable.

Importing it from the Import from URL wizard in TBC also seems to work. The
other test to directly import the URL into another local graph also seems to
work for me.

So I am sorry but I cannot reproduce an error here. Have you tried this
multiple times?

Thanks,
Holger

System hangs.

Parsing it outside TBC using jena seems to work.
