Thank you Mark and Irene!

I am aware of EVN but we are not considering migrating to it as this point. But it's good to know that it supports this functionality.

Did I understand correctly that there is no way to get this functionality in TBC Standard? I mean, I'd like to have something like this in the RDF data:

:MyClass a owl:Class ;
  rdfs:label "My class"@en ;
  dct:created "2014-06-01"^^xsd:date ;
  dct:modified "2014-10-07"^^xsd:date .

(actually perhaps with xsd:dateTime and more granularity)

And these timestamp fields should auto-update.

They could be in the edited graph, or perhaps another graph.

SPIN? SPARQLMotion?

Best regards,
Osma

TBC automatically keeps a change log in memory to enable its undo
operations. You can see it in the Change History view, but it is not
persisted and is cleared once the file is closed.

TopBraid EVN, on the other hand, does exactly what you are asking for.
Each change is persisted together with a time stamp and a user ID. Each
model that is being developed using EVN has two graphs - graph
containing the model itself and graph containing all the changes to the
model plus a few additional pieces of metadata.

You can try EVN in a standalone single user mode in TBC Maestro Edition
(as per Mark's instructions) or you can request an evaluation account on
our server (from a link on this page
http://www.topquadrant.com/products/topbraid-enterprise-vocabulary-net/) to
experience it in a collaborative mode with multiple users.

Hi Osma,

Also, this function is available in our EVN product. A good way to see
that product using TBC is from the main menu. Choose System > Open
TopBraid EVN. In my example - I edited the Geography Taxonomy and
changed the country - Albania to Albaniaabc. This was then reflected
in the Change History form in EVN. I will send you steps and a
screenshot of that example.

To learn more about EVN as well you can link here.

    Hi all,

    We're using TopBraid Composer Standard to edit an ontology with
    lots of OWL classes. We'd like to keep track of when classes
    change (e.g. labels are added or modified, or properties changed).

    Is there an easy way to have the editor keep track of metadata
    such as created and modified timestamps? I'd imagine something
    like SPIN rules or triggers could be useful for this.

    I found this blog posting about change metadata:

http://topquadrantblog.__blogspot.fi/2009/09/creating-__and-managing-metadata-about.__html

<http://topquadrantblog.blogspot.fi/2009/09/creating-and-managing-metadata-about.html>

    It mentions that "TopBraid Composer inserts change statements
    automatically". But I have not seen such statements in our data.
    Is this something that has to be enabled somewhere?

    Thanks for any help,
    Osma
