Thank you for the explanation Irene. We will look at the autopopulation feature, to get at least the creation date.

Correct.

SPARQLMotion is not available in TBC-SE. As far as SPIN, to use it as
you have described, would require a trigger mechanism. Without it, the
rules run on demand only when you click on Run inferencing.

There is an Event-Condition-Action engine in TopBraid platform that will
trigger specified activities after the edit as described here
http://www.topquadrant.com/2013/07/08/performing-side-effects-after-each-edit-in-topbraid-evn/,
but it is for the server products, not TBC.

You can set up Create New dialog for classes to autopopulate annotation
properties on create. This is done similarly to how labels are
automatically created. This will give you create date, but not the
modified dates. See the dialog below:

Subject: Re: [topbraid-users] Automatic timestamps for classes/resources?

Thank you Mark and Irene!

I am aware of EVN but we are not considering migrating to it as this
point. But it's good to know that it supports this functionality.

Did I understand correctly that there is no way to get this
functionality in TBC Standard? I mean, I'd like to have something like
this in the RDF data:

:MyClass a owl:Class ;

    rdfs:label "My class"@en ;

    dct:created "2014-06-01"^^xsd:date ;

    dct:modified "2014-10-07"^^xsd:date .

(actually perhaps with xsd:dateTime and more granularity)

And these timestamp fields should auto-update.

They could be in the edited graph, or perhaps another graph.

SPIN? SPARQLMotion?

Best regards,

Osma
