I tried to install Topcased 2.1.0 using the update site http://topcased-mm.gforge.enseeiht.fr/release/update-site3.4/.
The Eclipse instance I try to install into is a new, clean install of
the "Eclipse
IDE for C/C++ Developers" flavour fetched directly from
www.eclipse.org,
it has CDT and Mylar preinstalled. But the
installation fails with a lot of broken dependencies. The same thing
happened with Topcased 2.0.0 but 2.1.0 was said to be able to handle
this (see below). I am reluctant to download one of the Topcased RCP
distributions which seems to be the recommended way of "installing"
Topcased simply because I have a lot of plugins installed in my current
environment. And I don't want to use two Eclipse instances, one for
modeling, one for coding. Is this suppose to work, am I doing something
wrong?

There are indeed some issues while installing Topcased v2.0.0 using p2
mechanism because of missing dependencies not explicitly declared. This
will be fixed in the next 2.1.0 release (planned for the end of the
week). Sorry for the inconvenience ...
A temporary solution would consist in installing manually all the
missing dependencies (they are listed in the release note).
