I'm teaching a Java laboratory course at my university. I'd like to be able to have my students install topcased as a plug-in to an existing eclipse installation, draw UML diagrams (use case, class and sequence diagrams) and also generate code from the class diagrams. I spent 10 hours yesterday trying to figure this out.
1. If I install via the 240MB RCP file from http://topcased.gforge.enseeiht.fr/index.php?idd_projet_pere=52&Itemid=60) I can get all the functionality I want, but it's gigantic, not a plug-in and it takes too long to install. (I only have 3 hours to get it installed and do the laboratory.) 2. If I install the toolkit or SDK (also from: http://topcased.gforge.enseeiht.fr/index.php?idd_projet_pere=52&Itemid=60) I get any of the functionality I want. 3. If I install via the update manager using this update link: http://topcased-mm.gforge.enseeiht.fr/release/update-site3.4/ then I enter a nightmare world of missing dependencies. I can locate and install these dependencies via Google but even if I eventually get everything installed I only get UML diagramming but no code generation. 4. If I install just the UML diagramming tool via this link: http://gforge.enseeiht.fr/frs/?group_id=34 I do get UML modeling right away but I do not get code generation. Will someone please help? :AMN:
