Good morning!

Please right click on the *.uml file, in this menu you get a item with
the name "Code Generator".
(Tested in TOPCASED version 2.1 RCP)

If you click on the other files you don't get this menu item!

Good luck!

Regards,

Jakob Bauer

Jakob:

I'd like to run it as an Eclipse plug-in rather than as the standalone
application. When I install the UML plug-in and Acceleo plug-in I do
not get the "Code Generation" option in my context menu (i.e., right
click menu). I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The installation of the standalone application takes about 30 minutes
(including download, unzip and first run).

        1. Download the file, extract and start TOPCASED. Why your
installation takes 3 hours?

        4. If you want to generate source code you also need the plugin
"Code Generator" from http://www.acceleo.org/pages/home/en!

        Kind regards

I'm teaching a Java laboratory course at my university. I'd
like to be able to have my students install topcased as a plug-in to an
existing eclipse installation, draw UML diagrams (use case, class and
sequence diagrams) and also generate code from the class diagrams. I
spent 10 hours yesterday trying to figure this out.

        1. If I install via the 240MB RCP file from
http://topcased.gforge.enseeiht.fr/index.php?idd_projet_pere=52&Itemid=6
0) I can get all the functionality I want, but it's gigantic, not a
plug-in and it takes too long to install. (I only have 3 hours to get
it installed and do the laboratory.)

        2. If I install the toolkit or SDK (also from:
http://topcased.gforge.enseeiht.fr/index.php?idd_projet_pere=52&Itemid=6
0) I get any of the functionality I want.

        3. If I install via the update manager using this update link:
http://topcased-mm.gforge.enseeiht.fr/release/update-site3.4/ then I
enter a nightmare world of missing dependencies. I can locate and
install these dependencies via Google but even if I eventually get
everything installed I only get UML diagramming but no code generation.

        4. If I install just the UML diagramming tool via this link:
http://gforge.enseeiht.fr/frs/?group_id=34 I do get UML modeling right
away but I do not get code generation.

        Will someone please help?
