When you created the diagram under snapshot 1, you only created the "library" diagram, i.e., the classifiers and their relationships. If you double click on one of the implementations you will be asked about creating an "instance" diagram, i.e., the blue print of the implementation. This is the place where you have the connections. You can even have multiple instance diagrams for the same implementation showing different graphical views, e.g., separating the physical and logical connections in different view.
