There have been in a couple of days no replies to this thread. I am wondering if this is because a) nobody really needs this feature, or b) everybody is just waiting for someone knowledgeable to provide a solution.
To a) I can only say that in my company already a project to introduce model based systems engineering in a department in charge of electromechanical devices failed due to the lack of this capability (the team could not find a way to properly describe their interfaces). And regarding b) I think it would be helpful to know if other people are finding the same problem or how they are dealing with this. I cannot say anything about how relevant this issue is for software people, since that is not my area, but I can say with certainty that this is a top priority for anybody working in electro-mechanical components, where we might have several instances of the same component with different values for the properties.
