There are many reasons for load spikes in Tor: HSDirs are one of them,
millions of added clients are another.
Given the timing, it is unlikely that these have the same cause, but they
may trigger similar bugs in Tor.
We are dealing with various bugs in a few different tickets.
Please:
* Upgrade to tor 0.3.2.8-rc
* Set MaxMemInQueues to your available memory, minus a few hundred
megabytes
* give the tor user enough file descriptors
Then, if the problem persists, open a new ticket for any out of memory
kill issues.
