Do you run the server itself or just use webhosting?

If you host your server yourself, you have to install the tor software
and configure a hidden service.

The domain is generated as it includes information about the key used
by tor.

The tor client can run on any supported OS, like Linux, Windows,
FreeBSD, OpenBSD etc.

It can run on a different machine than the web server itself.

You have to provide a machine, you get the domain by generating the
keys for your service, you do not need to register it like a common
gtld.

Your machine is part of the network and will distribute the information
that this hidden service exist to the directories.

This is one way to handle that. You can use and old PC sitting in your
basement. The tor client doesn't need to be reachable from the internet
directly, so it can be operated with IPv6 only on residential lines,
behind SPI firewall or with IPv4-CGNAT.

First explain how you would like to handle the server situation.
