I respond to them by the method required of the subpoena. Generally they are delivered by E-Mail so I respond to them in kind, explain that I am running a legal Tor Exit Node, explain what Tor is, and point to exonerator.torproject.org<http://exonerator.torproject.org> showing that that IP address was indeed a registered exit node at the time of the complaint.
