Jack can you test if installing gvfs-backends fixes this?
I think it should work.

Hi Israel,

I installed gvfs , logged out, logged back in.

1) Clicking on Trash and Devices worked as expected.
2) Clicking on Network produced the error pop-up in the included screenshot. 3) Still have missing Volume and Battery panel items after logging back in again.

Cheers,

Hey Jack,
To solve this issue:
sudo apt install gvfs
torios-exit
and log back in.

    Hi Israel,

Updated installed in VB system with latest 'jwm-menu' package and
the 'Places' menu drop-down is fully populated as expected now.

I still have the missing Volume and Battery icons missing though
    after logout / login.

Also noted, if I click on 'Trash' in 'Places' I get a pop-up
    'Operation not supported'.

    Cheers,
    JackT.
