This has been brought up a couple of times.  I think this would work well
if there was an obvious way to indicate you were seeing uncommitted changes.

The changelog tool isn't on my radar for large changes in 0.8 (synch, commit,
and shelve are ahead of it on the list), so this is a good place for
user contribution.

Feel free to add this to the TODO list for the changelog tool.
