  Yes, kdiff3 seems like a good match. I assume you imagine using a 4-pane view 
with parent1, base, parent2 and child/wd.

Personally I would prefer to use meld for that, so I hope that will work too. 
In 3-pane mode I would use parent1, child/wd, parent2. (I very seldom use base 
when I merge or review diffs.)

(Meld uses gtk and looks nice together with hgtk. It would be nice if meld 
could be improved and debugged to match kdiff3 functionality. Perhaps meld 
could get tighter integration with hgtk - or the other way that some diff 
functionality could be moved into hgtk.)
