My "stable" branch name approach has the nice benefit of
not having a problem with name-clashing with release tags.

That is, there would be no need to resort to using 0.n.0 as tag
for initial feature releases.

Furthermore, not having similar names as tags *and* branch
names at the same time helps to keep general confusion low.
