If you have any questions, feel free to post them to the mail-list.

And, I guess you are right. We don't have a guide on how to start
translation of a new language. I guess it works automatically if you create
an account on Launchpad, where you indicate your languages.

If you don't have a Launchpad account, you can always find your country code
and simply edit the URL, e.g.

click on the German translation
https://translations.launchpad.net/tortoisehg/unstable/+pots/tortoisehg/de/+translate
and, since your native language is Northern Sami, you already know that you
want to replace the "de" with "se", so you go to
https://translations.launchpad.net/tortoisehg/unstable/+pots/tortoisehg/se/+translate
and start translating.
