No surprise - it seems TortoiseSVN is plagued by antivirus scanners as well:

They have added an entry to their FAQ that recommends to turn off the indexing 
service
on the working copies and repositories, and exclude them from virus scans:

It's probably best to recommend the same for all mercurial repository roots as 
well.
