I'm wondering whether it might be due to the errant loading of the eol extension that I just described in the thread "TortoiseHg not always honouring eol settings".. > TortoiseHg kicks this function when running an action to modify working copy > or opening commit tab. You can disable the latter case by setting "Commit" -> > "Monitor working directory chnages" to "auto". Mine is set to "unspecified", which from the help message sounds like it is set to "auto"..0 > FWIW, how long does it take to complete "hg status" command? > and how many files does the repository have? Now that I know that eol really is turned off, I just did the following: hg update --clean none hg update default After that, the TortoiseHg "Refresh status..." widget did appear again, but only for about 4 minutes. And then in a DOS prompt I typed "hg status" and it took about 6 minutes. Oddly, though, my Manifest view is displaying a red exclamation mark against the majority of my files, even though they are freshly updated, and I have made no edits. When I say "Visual Diff" I get "There are no file changes to view" So I'm still not sure this is all totally fixed...
