I had been thinking about whether Maker culture relates to Open Source culture - I even had a note about that in my draft of my POSSE application, but it didn't make it into my final write-up. I think the two cultures are related, and your comment validates that. I'll be interested in hearing more from people about how to draw connections and comparisons between the two.
