I had been thinking about whether Maker culture relates to Open Source
culture - I even had a note about that in my draft of my POSSE
application, but it didn't make it into my final write-up.

I think the two cultures are related, and your comment validates that.
I'll be interested in hearing more from people about how to draw
connections and comparisons between the two. Certainly sites like Make,
and Instructables strike me as examples of open source communities.
