Would it be possible to declare TOS an OSS/FOSS/FLOSS-debate-free zone? In the spirit of religious toleration, perhaps, we could all just agree to get along? Or, if you prefer: it's my job to make my students aware of the differences, but it isn't my job to preach one flavor of open source branding over another. Yes, I know there are differences, and yes, I know there are people in the community who will cancel speaking engagements over the presence or absence of a single word on a website/poster/etc. If a change had to be made, I'd drop the caps on "Open Source," so it was no longer a proper noun (should it be?), and instead just "open source," which allows someone to search for the term and grow confused on their own.
