students ran this part of the session. If we cannot get the 3-4 hour
block then a shorter session with some structure but focused on
students doing things might work. Note special sessions are 75
minutes. Not as long as you like but might work. Workshops are 3
hours. These are the longer standard sessions that I recall.

Who has great idea?

My take:

If we can get a 3+ hour block (workshop): Barcamp format. I'm happy to facilitate but will need a hand on the logistics.

If we can't do that, but can get a 75-minute block (special session): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Speed_Geeking

If we can get a shorter session: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fishbowl_%28conversation%29

Theme for all 3 sessions might be something like "how students want to be prepared for the real world" -- something that gives students expertise by virtue of *being* students (and forces us to shut up and listen to them for a while!) and is a strong point of open source participation, but is not exclusively focused on open source.

Fire at will. Modifications, better ideas, criticisms? What needs to happen next to get this on a schedule, in whatever format?
