First of all let me just say that FINALLY there is an album worthy of
toppling The Rise & Fall off the perch in my fave list! WHAT A COMEBACK!!!
Ok as for my top five tunes, these are:
1. The Wizard (always my fave, since hearing the snippet on the Maddley all
that time ago... brilliant conclusion and the brass section is bloody
fantastic) 2. Saturday Night Sunday Morning (excellent lyric and intro
('what are you looking at?') and great voice) 3. Elysium (probably the BEST
intro and a maturer Madness) 4. The Communicator (very Bad Manners-y as
someone said and great to dance to, great lovably silly chorus) 5.
Lovestruck (what a comeback!)
Now I KNOW that I may well be the first (and possibly the only) one to NOT
include Drip Fed Fred but as a wise man once told me it's all a matter of
opinion (it actually came in at #6 in my final placings!) and I STILL think
that 4am should NEVER have been touched but oh well... GREAT album by all
accounts and all things considered #17 seems a low chart placing! ~~ Malta
