....here we go again....sesh 3,
As we left the telegraph (to head for the Tut
& Shive) we almost lost one of our party but Peter has mastered the art of
car dodging & somehow managed to get out of the way "that was a close
escape..."
The Tut & Shive was bouncing (na na na na naa
!), full of maddies & of course Madness on the juke box - we were really
getting in the mood now.
From there it was on to the arena & straight to
the mechandise stalls where Wee Stoo tried like a "teddy" bear to get stuff put
aside but to no avail so I offered to stash it in my bag (along with mine,
Colin's & Peter's) - it was burstin' at the seams so it was. It is all
quality gear by the way & well worth the dosh. We then got one last pint
& then our small group made our way into the arena where we started our
"vote for fred" campaign a bit earlier than everyone else & also we had few
shots at the bouncy, bouncy na na na na naa ! (Stoo's 90's version of the pogo
!). Hopefully the photo's will turn out ok, Stoo. Then Craig arrived & led
us down to the front to re-join the others.
It was time, the 7 wonders of the world were on,
the crowd went mental, the familiar "HEY YOU..." echoed across the arena &
we were off, jumping, dancing, bouncing, singing, hugging for over 1 1/2 hours.
They played an absolutely blistering set & were on top form - probably the
best i've ever seen them (it was my 10th time). They played most of the songs on
Wonderfull which were blended in perfectly with the old (but timeless)
stuff.
(Communicator, JTH, Wizard, Saturday night...&
Lovestruck blew me away, these songs are even better live !). Well done Peter,
Lovestruck & no tears ! - only joy, But no Elysium ! Why not ? - this song
is a masterpiece, I want to start a "vote for Elysium" campaign...Anyone else in
? The sight around the arena was amazing during DFF when everyone was showing
their support for Fred - awesome !
During NBTC out came the big, huge, massive
balloons for the final song "madness", they all came back out wearing white
boiler suits each with a letter of Madness on the back, they even managed to
spell it right when they all turned their back to us !... a truly MADnificent
show.
