Dear all,
I have just got e-mail back after the holidays and
I have to say that my madchester was a little different! I
left Hull before I could get any of the madmeet details so
I had no idea where you lot would be, my train was delayed
and I got to Manchester at about 5:30pm so I went straight
to the venue and hung around, unlike Vince not meeting the
band! I thought the support sucked, well... O.K that's a
little strong it was just too indie for my liking. I spent
money I didn't have on merchandise and stuck it on my Visa
(thank god for plastic!) I was sat behind some lads who
looked suspiciously like National Front boys (I think the
swastika's gave it away!) and they started chucking things
on the people below so behind them was probably the best
place to sit! Then the band came on and my heart jumped and
the concert was excellent except the rolling of joints,
shouting obcenities and other general anti social behaviour
from the lads in front! I can't desribe the feeling of
seeing the band live... my heart was pounding and I felt
all jittery, I think meeting them might actually have
killed me!!! When I heard Vince mentioned I smiled coz I
knew it was probably "our Vince". Then all too soon it was
over, it was one of the best and worst days of my life, it
would have been great to have someone to share it with but
the worst bit was that I couldn't find a cheap hotel and I
didn't have enough money for a good one after buying the
merchandise so I spent the night in the station, I've never
been so cold in my life! believe me being homeless is no
piece of cake even for one night. This guy tried to mug me
and I didn't sleep all night but do you know I would have
done it all again for Madness. Roll on Madstock and
hopefully this time I'll be with you guys!
